4. Cookies and how to control them

Cookies help the website work properly and help us understand what readers enjoy. We use three kinds.

Essential cookies keep the website running, remember your basic settings and protect against abuse. The website cannot work properly without them.

Analytics cookies show us which pages are popular, how people move around the site and where they run into trouble. This information is combined and used to improve CricRox.

Advertising cookies are used by our advertising partners to show ads and to measure how well they perform. Section 5 gives the details.

Where the law requires it, we ask for your permission before placing analytics or advertising cookies, and you can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings on the website. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Please note that blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the website work.

5. Advertising and Google AdSense

CricRox is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense and may work with other advertising partners to display ads on our pages.

Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a person's earlier visits to our website and to other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies allows it and its partners to show ads to you based on your visit to CricRox and to other sites on the internet.

You can choose how your information is used for personalized advertising:

  • You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com.
  • You can learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
  • You can opt out of some third party vendors that use cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
  • Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through a cookie banner before personalized ads are shown, and can change that choice later.

If you decline personalized ads, you will still see advertising, but it will be less relevant to your interests. We do not control the cookies set by advertisers, and their use of your information is covered by their own privacy policies.

6. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to measure traffic and understand how visitors use CricRox. It collects information such as pages viewed, time spent on the site, device type and approximate location. We use this information in summary form to improve the website. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, available from Google.
