Nuwan Thushara is a Sri Lankan fast bowler recognised for his distinctive sling-style action and ability to generate awkward angles. Born on August 6, 1994, he developed through domestic cricket and gained attention for his effectiveness in the shortest format. His unusual release point can make it difficult for batters to judge the ball early, while his variations offer options at different stages of a T20 match.

Thushara has represented Sri Lanka internationally and gained additional experience through franchise cricket. His skill set is particularly suited to limited-overs cricket, where yorkers, slower deliveries, and changes in angle can be decisive. His inclusion in the October 2026 T20I squad gives Sri Lanka another specialist pace option for the series against Pakistan.
