Janith Liyanage is a Sri Lankan cricketer who offers batting depth and a seam-bowling option. He developed through domestic cricket before earning opportunities in the national white-ball setup. Players with the ability to contribute in more than one department can be especially valuable in limited-overs cricket, where teams often need flexible batting positions and additional bowling choices.

Liyanage was selected for Sri Lanka's ODI squad for the October 2026 tri-series. His role can depend on the conditions and the balance of the playing XI, but his all-round skills give the team useful options. Continued consistency in domestic and international performances will help him compete for a regular place and strengthen his contribution to Sri Lanka's white-ball plans.
